This year we are donating to Down Syndrome North East charity. Molly Mear had Downs syndrome, once this had sunk in at 23 weeks gestation, we made the unanimous decision to give her every chance in life. We researched the condition and found that there are so many children who grow up into fully active, very clever and incredibly humorous individuals. Yes, she would have been ‘different’ both Brian and myself LOVE DIFFERENT Sadly, somewhere along her utero journey Molly decided not to be born to us this time round. We both feel very passionate about this condition and I for one want to run up and hug every baby, child and adult who has Downs. They are magical human beings who are full of love and fun. At Mearfest North / Newcastle we hope to raise a good amount of funds for this cause So they can all enjoy trips away, other events, keep their wonderful facilities moving forward and to ultimately enjoy their amazing lives with this donation. Down’s Syndrome North East is the leading organisation for the help and support of all people with Down’s Syndrome and their families and friends. We cover Northumberland, Tyneside, Wearside, Durham and Teesside.
