I went along with Brian to view this years Mearfest event held on the 2nd June FIRSTLY at The Duke Head Farnham Royal Slough from midday (FREE ENTRY donation buckets will be passed round bring your change with you) Then Farnham Royal Village Hall (which is in sunny Slough NOT FARNHAM SURREY!) from 7pm onwards (£10 on the door)

Both venues are practical, lovely, friendly, spacious with ample parking at both venues, the pub is just 2 minute walk around the corner from the Village Hall.  Mr. Mear really did save the day. We just need you all to come and enjoy yourselves and support our causes.

We will have amazing auctions of prized rock memorabilia kindly donated from David Bonney from Diamond Head and Budgies John Thomas stage clothing from Linda Edmonson and Simon Wilson, Drumsticks from Nigel Golcker from Saxon and not forgetting our infamous raffles with tickets with camping from STONEDEAF FESTIVAL  Unique memorabilia from Brian Tatler from Diamond Head.

We hope you will come along to support us The Willows and Down Syndrome North East.

A Blessing for Mearfest
By the Revd Carl Flynn Edwards

A tiny hand
Unique
Beautiful
Fragile
Human
Loved
Molly

The Fruit of Love
Symbol of loss
Bearer of hope

An older hand
Pierced by iron
Stretched and torn
Carrying the pain
Of a broken world

Into a heart of a God
Who knows
Who loves
Who cares

Many Hands
Joined together
Showing that love triumphs
That darkness cannot extinguish light

Hands raised
For Molly
For Music
For Mearfest

Rock of Ages
We salute you

MOLLY IN MAYAN RUINS MEXICO

7/5/2018

Picture
For me to see Jon Wilma standing in Chichén Itzá which is a complex of sacred Mayan ruins on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, makes my old travellers heart sing.

Eleven years ago I did all of this on a two year pilgrimage around the world. I turned forty and crashed head first into a middle age crisis!

I sold everything I owned including a very nice garden flat in London, my car, everything material and replaceable. I went to see if there was more to life than working stupid hours and paying the bills with nothing much left after.

There was a whole world out there and those travel experiences will stay with me forever. They also shaped who I became after . It strengthened and gave me a deeper understanding into human life.

I named myself 'THE SOUL CULTIVATOR' and began to take photographs again and write for the first time in my life, publically, online, which at first I thought just my friends were reading these stories but it turned out nearly 100,000 people have clicked my pages.

On that trip I started with a backpack a laptop and a one way ticket to Mexico. Over the next nine months, I travelled over land through Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Perú down into Bolivia. I was on a mission and went in search of anything mind, body spirit. I needed to heal my inner child and forgive my family. I had to return to the UK for a month then I went back East this time, starting in Thailand, moving through to Cambodia, Indonesia, China, Malaysia.

I met incredible people of all ages, colors, nationalities, I took part in some bizarre and wonderful life altering experiences. Making dear life long friends along the way. Each year travelling cost me two thirds less than my entire mortgage and council tax alone!

I honestly think that travelling light, (I wore the same 8 garments that interchanged with each other one pair of solid wedged flip flops and one pair of hiking boots) owning nothing of any great value apart from my passport and having no responsibilities at some point in your whole life,
is a good thing, be it before you start to have families or after they have all left the nest. It clears the decks of all the material crap we accumulate, all the emotional stagnation from past pains, all the mental pressures the world we live today creates on a daily basis.

After returning all culturally saturated, I re invented my job as a medic to suit me, I accumulated more stuff to fill houses, I found the husband that had been predicted many times while away by seers and mystics, voodoo doctors and soothsayers.

Jon Wilma thank you for this photo, for taking Molly to one of my most sacred places on Earth. This brought back many good and happy times and it's so thrilling to see my daughter is following in my footsteps via your boots. We love you Jon.

STILL MUMMY

Still Mummy
Has anybody up there seen her
She walks with grace
Kind of face
Skin so fair
Dark of hair
She never saw our home
All hope was gone
Room still echoes
Empty without her voice
Yet her spirit moves
Without a noise
A void unfilled
Miss her every day
Spine still chilled
When her name I say
With life abound
The children play
I still wonder
How she’d look today
I may still go under
As I think of her heartbeat
To this day
My favourite sound

INTERNATIONAL BEREAVED MOTHER'S DAY

6/5/2018

PHOTO: Molly's hand in mine taken a day after her birth. Her hand will always touch many hearts
International Bereaved Mother's Day always falls on the first Sunday in May and is observed by acknowledging those women who have experienced the loss of a baby or child. Including women who cannot conceive.

Today is about us. The ones who would normally say nothing, who bury our losses and speak to our sleeping babies in the quietness of our minds, in hushed tones. Each one of us grieving mothers deserves a day of recognition, we wish to say our baby’s names out loud, to let off balloons and lay flowers and talk openly about the beautiful babies we carried.

Our baby’s may not be here now, but they were here once. We gave birth to them, we held them, we wrapped them up in shawls and dressed them in baby grows, we kissed them, we checked they had 5 fingers and 5 toes when they were born, we smelt them, we cried for them, we buried them. Our homes are forever more so empty without them, they rest in peace within our broken hearts.
If you lost a baby or a child, be kind to yourself today, speak about them. Get the photos and memory boxes out, feel your baby’s spirit close by.

If someone you know lost a child and is silent, send them love, phone say hello, talk about their baby.

This is more common than people think. Many women of every age within every generation are grieving and suffering.

Mothers of this world unite.

THIS BLOG IS FOR MOLLY MEAR 12TH AUGUST 2013
FOREVER HOLDING THE HEARTS OF MANY.

MEARFEST JUNE EVENT NEWS - NEVER SURRENDER

2/5/2018

We are so sorry to announce that we have been right royally let down by The Irish Club Slough. They somehow double booked us! So, without phoning Brian or looking at the website to see how our event is shaping up they just cancelled by phone over the weekend.

This has left us in a right pickle as it is only 4 weeks to go, we have sold a number of tickets, we have just had all our posters and flyers printed, wristbands printed and sent within beautiful stationery! People have booked hotels and train tickets and taken off valuable days as annual leave.

We are currently searching high and low in and around the depths of Slough Windsor Maidenhead to find a venue suitable at this late stage.

PLEASE bare with us!

We will not let this defeat us.

THE SHOW WILL GO ON!!
