Footprints 310,000 steps to make through each one I carry you your memory is razor sharp it cuts deep, lacerates crashing waves fill my senses the foreshore is endless blackened skies roll waves crash and die hurling themselves endlessly I walk on bowed with incredible weight the emotion bursts in me the tears form but refuse to fall the rain strikes hard disguising my grief anointing my face so that passers by cannot read me I realise I am holding you The enormity of your loss rises in me a leviathan from the depths of my being and all that was all that should have been now embedded in the wet sand will be washed away again and again as the moon soars in the heavens.
