YOUR BABY'S HEART HAS STOPPED.

It's been a strange day and one of emotion
Seven years ago today we absorbed the sentence above
How I drove us both the 17 mile trip from the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading home to Watlington in Oxfordshire i'll never know
The following day the 11th of August neither of us can remember one single memory.
Such was the shock and the enormity of what had happened to our lives.
I do know that as terrible as that journey was it was nothing compared to returning to the Labour ward on the 12th and the events that followed.
Seven years is a long time.
But we will both remember that sentence as long as we live
So will the other 19 families that will lose a Stillborn or infant every day in the UK.
For us and many, many thousands of people who suffer, Preterm, ectopic, Stillborn and Infant loss we will always remember that life lost, that life loved, that life unlived.
