REVIEWS WITHIN ROCKER'S FIRST MONTH ON EARTH

‘Rocker Bye Baby engagingly weaves together mysticism, emotional intelligence, and hardcore reality. Claire Mear is a sassy guide through her own journey, from a rough childhood, through to fertility issues, the tragic loss of a baby, and, finally, a hard-won happy ending. Mear busts through comfort zones, takes life by the horns, leans into her own rawness, and shows us how our deepest vulnerabilities can lead to our greatest superpowers.’  Diana Rico (DianaRico.com)

‘This is a beautifully written biography; you won’t just read it but walk Claire’s journey alongside her. You will not want to put it down. Young Claire had a lot to say, but no one wanted to listen. As a teenager she was placed in the care of social services, which awakened her realisation that the world was for her creative taking. Not letting her childhood define her, Claire went on to style the stars and was responsible for a few iconic outfits and looks of that time. She travelled extensively, became a Guatemalan Priestess, then helped countless people by becoming a London ambulance medic, moving into being a feature film medic. But she did not skip joyously through adult life. The hurdles got higher and potholes bigger. Enduring unimaginable pain, miscarriage, a full-term stillbirth, and depression. This did not stop Claire’s creative drive. This book is proof that anyone can achieve anything, good can come from bad, no matter what our start in life. The phoenix always rises from the fire.’  Amelia Grimmett (creativemillie)

‘From the first paragraph, to the closing line. Rocker Bye Baby is a rollercoaster of emotions. At times you spiritually feel that you are Claire and taking the journey with her, every step of the way. A heart breaking, heart-warming story of enlightenment and guidance. A delicate insight into infant loss and the legacy Molly has left behind’  Samantha Griffin (Ashford Radio)

‘There are books that in the reading of them are like butterflies. They bring a flash of colour and beauty and then, they are gone. There are other books that are like the rays of the sun. They bring light and warmth, in which one can grow. Rocker Bye Baby is one of these books. Claire takes the reader on a journey through her life; through difficult and painful times, through her experience of unimaginable loss. Rocker Bye Baby is not just a tragedy; it is a book which conveys hope and redemption. The spirituality within the book is different from my own and it may not be for everyone, but nevertheless, it is beautifully written and the silver thread that runs through this story, is so clearly one of love. Claire and her husband Brian are truly inspiring people. This book will change you.’ The Reverend Carl Flynn Edwards (Mearfest Chaplain)

‘A powerful story of hope and clear vision, truly a triumph! With a staunch connection to Spirit along with a brilliant sense of humour, her energy has the capacity to dislodge any bitter concretions, useless now and better for being washed away by tears of sorrow and of laughter. To whoever is reading these words, this book, ‘Rocker Bye Baby’, is a must-read. Enjoy the depth, richness, and intricacies of its layers. Celebrate this time, now, here together. One can only benefit from meeting Claire.’ Linnet Kerr (Retired RMT)

‘No book, no film, no play has ever made my cry like this, and I mean fully let go and cry, this story is a must read.’

Steve Grimmett (The Grim Reaper-NWOBHM)

‘Wow! What an extremely emotional experience reading this was. Utterly intense and compelling. Breathtaking.’  Antony Bray (Abaddon/Venom)

‘An outstanding book currently reading my copy and have to say it’s difficult to put down the effort and the emotions that’s have been put into this truly shows I can’t wait to keep reading thank you so much for my copy.’  Daniellea Allen - EMT

‘Beautifully written, with many different layers. One of those rare books that stays with you after you finish reading it and will be returned to many times to be re-read. Be prepared for tears and laughter, and you will thank God Buddha and Elvis that you have read this!’ Jackie Carson.

‘A story of true courage in the face of heartbreak. It will lift you up it will bring you down, it will make you smile it will make you cry, above all else it shows that love will prevail, we love you Molly and we always will.’  Marek Chudzikowski

‘I haven't read a book since the death of Terry Pratchett and hardly read any books before I found him. This book keeps jumping back into my hands every time I try to put it down. It's strange reading about people I know, but it's also so nice to find out more about my friends and scary to see how much my life reflects Claire's. The only difference was I held back while Claire strove forward. Her writing is so descriptive that sometimes I feel I'm a fly on the wall watching her life unfold. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the book.’ Chris Tinkham

‘Wow, what can I say? If you want a book that you can't put down then this is the one. I can relate so much to this book with what we went through with Artorius. But also my childhood and upbringing and being in care, having absent parents. I could have written this book myself. A truly FANSTATIC book right from the very first page. Claire and Brian you are both such amazing inspirational people and Molly would be and is so bloody proud.’ Shantell Parnell

‘Rocker Bye Baby has joined my list of the most inspirational and important books I’ve ever read! I can’t say much more than that it is exceptional!’ Rob Bryne from Montreaux

‘Having read this cover to cover in one sitting it made me chuckle and it made me cry! Claire was a best friend through the Central School days, if only we had had the access to resources we have now, I feel guilty that I was unable to help her more, through those dark days, I was banned from her house, she was banned from mine, outside school we spent what time we could, perfectly timed and executed so as not for her to get into more trouble. Although we eventually went our separate ways I was thrilled, years later, to find a large banner on the then Friends Reunited, from Claire, trying to find me. We have been in contact ever since. What Claire and Brian have endured on their own and together humbles me. They are an inspiration and a force to be reckoned with! Molly will forever be in everyone's heart and Claire, Brian and the gorgeous Amelie will always be in mine.’ Sarah Wilson - (School comrade)

‘What an experience, and what a privilege, to read Clare Mear's biography, Rocker Bye Baby. Told with passion, humility, and love. It is an incredible tale of an incredible journey by an incredible lady. I wept, I laughed but mostly I devoured. Page after page builds a growing love and respect for Clare, a deeper understanding of who Molly really is and how she continues to touch so many lives, from somewhere just beyond this Earthland. It is a story that goes beyond gender roles. It touches something much deeper than this reality. As the last words float from the page into my eager consciousness. I am left feeling both honoured and humbled to have shared in this powerful story of loss and legacy.’
Jon Wilmer (Chinnor Bike Festival)

‘Wow what a book if you only read one book in your life, Rocker bye baby is the book to read. I have travelled, laughed, and cried all from this one book. The amazing spiritual and emotional journey Claire and Brian have both been on in their own ways. From the very first page to the last this book has kept me hooked.’ Sarah Chatfield

‘I read Rocker Bye Baby over this weekend and everything else got put on hold as I just could not put this book down. As a bereaved mum myself I was prepared for the descriptive devastation of baby loss, the rawness of grief that ripples through all areas of life and the struggle for hope within the darkness. I was not prepared to read of Claire's life, from a torturous childhood, through near death, loss, self-discovery, love and the incredible legacy of Molly. The most special of daughters. This book is more than baby loss and so much more than a life story. It will leave you feeling you have stepped off a roller coaster of highs, lows, joy, tears, hope and wonderment. A heart wrenching, inspiring and thought provoking read that will leave you wanting more.’
Nicky Whelan (Lily's mum & Bereavement Support Services Of SANDS)

'If you only ever read one book, then this amazing peek into the life and struggles of Claire during her early years and then how this continues in a new vein in her adult years, culminating in the love and unwavering faith of her husband Brian (and so many friends) ensuring she is nurtured and the final cherry on top of the beautiful Amelie is all you need.
Not only does Claire breath a new, eloquent and sensitive way of understanding her feelings; she does this in a way that doesn't scream of "poor me". Instead, she shows a different way of maybe understanding oneself and trials we all go through in life.
Simply put: Thank you Claire (with an I and E) and Brian for sharing your innermost hurt, grief and thoughts but also showing there is a way forward.’

Hev Smith (South Central Ambulance Service Paramedic)

‘I was 19 years old when I remember walking into a club and my life changed. I was faced with this beautiful statuesque woman, tears welled up in my eyes and all I could mutter was "It's YOU!" We had never met before but we both had this instant recognition that we had walked this earth together once upon a time. I know hand on heart you too would have had that feeling of meeting a stranger and instantly Knowing them! We became firm friends and Claire became my first baby's spiritual Godmother. Years later, my absolute delight and JOY at being asked to be their first baby's Godmother? I was over the moon and there during the pregnancy and so excited to meet my darling Molly. Then, tragedy struck. Two days before she was due to give birth, Molly changed her mind. Her heart stopped beating and our worlds caved in. Life was so hard for them for quite sometime. I am so proud of my friends turning tragedy into helping and healing others with their tireless charity events Mearfest and for Clairey writing this incredible book. It will bring you tears of sadness and tears of joy and all that in between. My friend Claire is a fine writer and will bring out all the feels when you read this. I am so proud to know you my strong, powerful, funny, and loving friend Claire Mear. Here is her first book, if you have had an experience like this, or know someone who has or just want to read how someone can lose a child and find spiritual meaning to it all. Highly recommend it.’ Marina Banks  (ROCKSTAR RAW AND REALISTIC)

‘I am an avid reader but seldom have I come across an autobiography that is so deeply moving to the point that I struggled to put it down. Written and self-published by my friend Claire Mear, it documents the unimaginable loss of her and her husband Brian’s first-born Molly who was born sleeping. As if this wasn't enough the book recounts her own mental and physical abuse at the hands of her parents and the lasting self-doubt that permeated her life. Despite the subject material it is not all dark but is interlaced with humor, love, and light. It is a MUST READ. It is thought provoking and, in a world, where we are all too often judgmental of people, it perhaps provides an insight into why an individual may behave in the way that they do. None of us know what goes on behind closed doors or the life experiences such individuals have.’
John Divall MBE (Retired South-Central Ambulance Service Paramedic)

‘This afternoon I began to read this incredible book. Before I started, I was thinking that I would not be able to see through my tears, like the first time I read Brian's experiences. I was so drawn into this book that I now understand much more than before. Claire's near-death experience in hospital helped me understand how we get advice and guidance from beyond this world. Rocker made me want to read a book again after a very long time.’
John Thomas Bell (Mearfest-South sound engineer)

‘Oh my! This book is beautiful so well written. I feel like I am in the room with you and watching it all unfold in front of me. Your words are amazing. Your book arrived so I thought I will just read a couple of pages and wow. I am hooked best book I have ever read in my life
I refrained from tears until you said goodbye to Molly, when you were in the bath, then they flowed. You are both more amazing than I originally thought. This book is inspirational Amazing and so personal. Very well written your words are from the heart. Beautiful.’
